Brian Lawler Hanged Himself

Brian Christopher Lawler, better known as Grand Master Sexay, and son of wrestling legend Jerry “The King” Lawler has apparently died after hanging himself in jail.

On June 6th of 2018, Brian Lawler was arrested for not paying for a hotel room. As reported by Eryn Taylor of WREG 3 News out of Memphis, TN:

Brian Lawler, the son of Jerry “The King” Lawler, was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly not paying for a hotel room.

According to the police report, Lawler and another man, Terry Teague, checked into the Hampton Inn on Peabody Place using a company credit card. The next day it was discovered the card didn’t have sufficient funds.

Both men said they didn’t have the money to pay for the room and were arrested.

They were charged with theft of services.

Shortly thereafter, on July 7 2018, Lawler was arrested for DUI and evading police.

Grandmaster Sexay had a strong run with 2 Cool (alongside Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty) in the WWE until his release in 2001 for smuggling drugs across the Canadian border.

His legal troubles continued. For example, The Jackson Sun for Friday, June 26 2010 reported:

Officers were dispatched about 2:45 a.m. Friday to a Circle K store at 1831 U.S. 45 Bypass in reference to an intoxicated person. When officers arrived, they found Brian Lawler, who “was very unsteady on his feet” and had “slurred speech.” Once he was taken into custody, Brian Lawler “became very belligerent,” cursed at an officer and told the officer that once the handcuffs were taken off him, he was going to rip the officer’s head off. The report said Brian Lawler “was taken into custody for his own safety due to his high level of intoxication.”

It’s been widely reported today that Brian Lawler was in critical condition; many sources are claiming that he has died.
